Hoopla Working In Association With The Belgrade at Belgrade Theatre

Philip Monks is a seasoned writer and educator with extensive experience in creative writing and playwriting, particularly for young audiences. Since December 1991, Philip has been self-employed as a writer, conducting creative writing workshops at various educational institutions, including Newman University and the University of Birmingham, while pursuing a PhD in Creative Writing. As a partner in Hoopla Theatre since June 2008, Philip has focused on creating music theatre for young people and has worked in association with the Belgrade Theatre on multiple projects. Additionally, Philip has served as a visiting writer and lecturer at prestigious institutions, including Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and the University of Birmingham, while holding residencies at Birmingham Museums Trust and Barber Institute of Fine Arts. Philip's academic background includes a BA in English Language and Literature from St Catherine's College, Oxford, and a PhD from the University of Birmingham.
