Michael Vautour has extensive work experience in the aviation industry. Michael started their career in 1989 as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer apprentice at Abitibi Helicopters, followed by a similar role at Nordic Helicopters. In 1990, they joined Abitibi Helicopters as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, where they worked until 1994.

In 1994, Vautour joined Bell Helicopter as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in the Preflight department. Michael subsequently held roles as a Supervisor in the Preflight department and as a Product Support Engineer. In 2010, they were promoted to Supervisor of Product Support Engineering and later served as a Product Support Engineer until 2016.

In 2016, Vautour moved to Bell Flight, where they currently hold the position of 407 Product Lead. In this role, they report directly to the Chief of Engineering for Light Helicopters and is responsible for coordinating deliverables from the Customer Support and Services team to the 407 Program. Michael also serves as a voting member on the Bell Helicopter Product Safety Board, representing CSS, and ensures that maintenance and operational safety aspects are addressed from an operator/customer perspective.

Michael Vautour also has experience outside of Bell Helicopter. From 2005 to 2007, they served as the President of CFAMEA, and from 2005 to 2007, they worked as a President.

Overall, with over three decades of experience in the aviation industry, Michael Vautour possesses a strong background in aircraft maintenance, product support, and leadership.

Michael Vautour completed their high school education at Labrador City Collegiate, where they focused on enriched studies in math, chemistry, physics, biology, and other subjects. Michael then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BScE) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Brunswick from 1985 to 1987. Following this, from 1988 to 1989, they obtained a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance at Collège Communautaire du N.-B. (Dieppe), specializing in Entretien en Aeroneufs.
