Curtis Lawyer

Curtis Lawyer is currently the Capital Projects Director at Bellingham Public Schools. Prior to their current position, they worked as a Project Manager for McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. from June 2006 to October 2011. There, they worked on projects such as the Kaiser Oakland Medical Replacement Project and the San Francisco Unified School District. From October 2011 to April 2014, they were the Business Manager for Post Point Seafood. In this role, they were responsible for the financial, office, and business management of the company. Prior to working at Post Point Seafood, they were a Project Engineer for dck worldwide, LLC from January 2002 to May 2006. There, they were responsible for estimating and on-site management of projects such as the United States Courthouse in Miami, Florida and the Southwest Florida International Airport.

Curtis Lawyer graduated from Sehome High School and went on to study civil engineering at Clemson University. After graduation, they worked in the field of architecture and graphic design before obtaining certification as a Designated Design-Build Professional from the Design-Build Institute of America. Curtis also has certification from the Washington State Department of Ecology as a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) and from the S.C. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation as an EIT (FE).

Brian Smart - Capital Projects Manager, Julie Denton - Executive Administrative Assistant, Capital Projects, and Corey Ayers - Capital Projects Manager report to Curtis Lawyer. Curtis Lawyer reports to Greg Baker, Superintendent. They are on a team with Jessica Sankey - Executive Director, Operations, Joan Steiner - Director, Human Resources, and Jay Jordan - Assistant Superintendent, Teaching & Learning.
