Marcos Polanco has an extensive work experience spanning from 1993 to 2018. In 1993, they were a Project Manager at Whitelight Systems, where they managed an email product line and led a team of six developers. In 1994, they were a Member of Technical Staff at Filoli Information Systems, where they compiled requirements and wrote functional specifications for a client/server reengineering of claims processing system. In 1995, they co-founded software firm Imana, Inc. and played roles as lead developer, director of engineering and CEO. In 2003, they were a Project Manager at the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company, where they managed the establishment of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust. In 2006, they were the Founding Director of the Information & Communication Technologies Business Unit at the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company, where they catalyzed $110M in investments and facilitated the creation of over 1,700 professional technology jobs. In 2012, they were a Director at The Founder Institute, where they helped launch 50 startups by leading founder cohorts in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Peru and Puerto Rico. In 2014, they were a Fellow at the Kauffman Fellows Network. In 2015, they were a Mobile Engineer at Visor Labs. From 2018 to present, they have been at Bellwether Coffee, where they have held the roles of Lead Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager and Director of Software Engineering. In their roles at Bellwether Coffee, they have scaled systems to support $ MRR for eCommerce, reorganized the software organization, gained consensus for redefined non-functional requirements, rearchitected the software system and more.

Marcos Polanco obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from Stanford University. Marcos then pursued a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2021. Marcos also obtained an Executive Leadership certification from LinkedIn in December 2022.
