Elizabeth (Liz) Gray has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Starting in 1999, they worked as a Middle School Latin Teacher at Cape Cod Academy. In 2001, they became the Feasibility Study Coordinator for the Cristo Rey Network Model Schools at Cassin Educational Initiative Foundation. From 2004 to 2008, Liz served as a Lead Teacher at Uphams Corner Charter School, teaching Middle School subjects such as social studies, Latin, literacy, and rhetoric. In 2008, they joined Milton Academy as the 8th Grade Dean and Social Studies Teacher. Currently, they are serving as the Middle School Head at Belmont Day School since 2015.

Elizabeth (Liz) Gray's education history began at Valley School of Ligonier, where they completed their elementary school education. Elizabeth (Liz) then attended John Burroughs School for high school, though the specific start and end years are unknown. Following high school, they enrolled in Brown University, where they studied Classics and earned their Bachelor's Degree from 1995 to 1999. During their time at Brown, they also briefly studied at Duke University's Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, Italy, in 1997-1998. After completing their undergraduate degree, Liz went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Education at Brown University from 2003 to 2004.
