Erich Baker

Erich Baker currently serves as the Vice Provost for Research and Strategic Initiatives at Belmont University since June 2023. Prior to this role, Baker was the Interim Dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Baylor School of Engineering & Computer Science from August 2022 to June 2023. A long-term faculty member at Baylor University from August 2002 to June 2023, Baker held various academic positions including Professor, Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor. Earlier in the career, Baker was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from August 2000 to July 2002. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Comparative and Experimental Medicine from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, a Master of Science (MS) in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Notre Dame.
