Nick Speight Mbe

Nick Speight MBE has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various industries. Nick is currently employed at Co-op as the People Director, focusing on Culture and Colleague Experience. Prior to this, they held roles as the People Director, Head of People Operations and Services, and Business Services Director (Interim) at the same company. Before joining Co-op, they worked at Belong as a Non-Executive Director. Nick has also served as the Chair of Governors at Co-op Academies Trust since 2017. Earlier in their career, they were the Head of HR Shared Services at Sainsbury's and held various roles at Ceridian in HR and Solutions Architecture. Nick has prior experience at Somerfield as the Head of HR, Projects, HR Controller, North, HR Manager, and Store Manager. Additionally, they worked as the General Store Manager at NAAFI and as the Head of Retail Division at BMMI. Nick began their career at Spinneys, BMMI as a Deputy Manager and later became a Store Manager.

Nick Speight MBE started their education at Ladybridge Primary School from 1972 to 1979, where they successfully passed the 11+ exam. Nick then attended Bolton School from 1979 to 1986, where they completed their A Levels and O Levels. Following this, Speight pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in German Studies at The University of Manchester, graduating in 1990. Later on, from 2002 to 2004, they attended Manchester Open Learning (MOL), focusing on CIPD Professional Qualifications.
