Giuseppe Ciotta

CTO at Belvo

Giuseppe Ciotta has a long and varied work experience. Starting in 2000, they worked as a Lab Assistant at Politecnico di Milano, where they did network and system programming using the C programming language. Giuseppe then moved to Regia SRL, where they were a Software Engineer, implementing UI and backend code in Python and SDL for one of the first concepts of Smart TV. In 2005, they worked as a Software Engineer at TVBLOB, a startup developing over-the-top TV solutions. Here, they created and maintained a custom Linux distribution for embedded systems, developed custom Linux kernel device drivers, and developed a firmware management system which allowed pushing over-the-air software updates to clients. In 2009, they were the Lead Developer at Blogo.it, where they developed a federation of social networks deployed in several Blogo properties as well as marca.com and elmundo.es. In 2010, they worked as a Software Engineer at Demonware (Activision Blizzard), developing multiplayer and matchmaking backend services for the videogame "Call of Duty: Black Ops". In 2011, they were the CTO at QDQ Media, where they led engineering teams working on a no-code website builder, marketing automation services, high-traffic web applications and content management systems. From 2017 to 2020, they were at Eventbrite, where they were the Director of Engineering and was responsible for the checkout and order processing engineering unit, transacting over $4.5 billion/year. Giuseppe also bootstrapped and scaled Eventbrite's first European engineering Hub in Madrid. Currently, they are the VP of Engineering at Belvo, where they are turning the rich and diverse financial ecosystem of Latam into a set of delightful APIs and developer-firt tools.

Giuseppe Ciotta received their BSc in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and their Maturità classica from Liceo Classico "Lorenzo Costa".
