Toni Penya-Alba

Toni Penya-Alba has a wealth of experience in the technology industry. In 2005, they began their career as a Software Developer for Multi-acces, an IT consultancy company. Two years later, they joined Festina Group as a Software Engineer. In 2009, they moved to Lotary Ltd. as an Information Technology Manager. In 2011, they began their PhD candidacy at IIIA-CSIC. In 2014, they co-founded Babelboo, an English learning platform. In 2015, they joined Intelligent Pharma as a Research Scientist. From 2018 to 2021, they served as Head of Machine Learning and Applied Research, VP of Engineering (distributed), and Data Scientist at Adsmurai. Finally, in 2021, they took on the role of Machine Learning Manager at Typeform, and in 2022, they became an Engineering Manager (Machine Learning) at Belvo and a Lecturer at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.

Toni Penya-Alba received their Engineer degree in Computer Science from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona between 2002 and 2009. Toni then pursued their Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya between 2011 and 2012. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Artificial Intelligence from Universitat de Barcelona between 2012 and 2014.
