Julie Hwang

Julie Hwang currently serves as General Counsel at Benchling, where responsibilities include overseeing corporate, employment, international, equity management, product, intellectual property, and privacy legal functions. Prior to Benchling, Julie held multiple positions at Prosper Marketplace, culminating in the role of EVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, managing a wide range of legal matters and leading a team of approximately 20. Julie's experience also includes serving as Assistant General Counsel at One Kings Lane, where focus was on corporate governance and commercial contracts, as well as working as a Senior Associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, providing advisory services on corporate and transactional matters. Early legal career included an Associate position at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, specializing in corporate and securities law. Julie holds a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law.
