Karissa Yau currently serves as a Product Manager at Benchling since October 2025. Prior to this role, Karissa was a Software Engineer at Verily Life Sciences from August 2022 to October 2025 and interned in software engineering at Verily (Google Life Sciences) for a brief period in 2021. Previous experience includes positions as a Research Assistant at the Rubin Lab from December 2018 to June 2021, and a Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon in early 2021, where Karissa successfully designed a cache layer for Alexa AI that significantly optimized workflow time. Additionally, Karissa co-directed the health++ hackathon at SHIFT (Stanford Health Innovations) from February 2019 to May 2020, engaging over 300 participants in healthcare challenges. Karissa earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Management Sciences and Engineering from Stanford University.
