Shawna Wolverton

Shawna Wolverton is Chief Product Officer at Benchling. She leads the company’s product, design, data, and product operation teams, supporting Benchling’s ambitious goal to be the platform at the center of an expansive biotech ecosystem.

Shawna previously spent 14 years at Salesforce, where as an early product team member, she played a critical role in driving what would become the company’s industry-first, influential strategy of bringing a platform model to SaaS. In her role as Senior Vice President of Product Management at Salesforce, Shawna launched the Lightning Platform and UI for Sales and Service Clouds. Most recently at Zendesk, Shawna led the product organization to deliver market-changing products as Executive Vice President of Product. A self-proclaimed nerd for good products, Shawna is known for her rigor in making products intuitive, in part, by bringing the end-user into the product development process.

Shawna has a B.A. in political science from University of California, Santa Cruz. She currently holds three patents and is an active speaker on the topic of career development, in particular for women in the workforce.
