Bend Park & Recreation District maintains and operates more than 3,035+ acres of developed and undeveloped parkland. That includes 81 parks/open spaces and 70 miles of trail. They offer over 1,000 recreation programs for all ages and abilities throughout the area and at the Juniper Swim & Fitness Center, The Pavilion and the Bend Senior Center.

The board of directors at Bend Park & Recreation District have a wide range of experience in different fields. Some of their experience includes being a member of the board of directors at Bend Park & Recreation District, being a member of the Citywide Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC) at City of Bend, and being an instructor at Oregon State University-Cascades. They also have a wide range of education, including degrees from The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in International Relations and International Economics, and Stanford University in Political Science.
