Matteo Battaglio

Software Engineer at Bending Spoons

Matteo Battaglio is a software engineer who is currently employed at Bending Spoons. Prior to their current position, Battaglio worked as an iOS software developer at Codermine and as a software engineer at Tecnosens S.p.A.

Battaglio began their career in 2006 when they started working at Tecnosens S.p.A. as a software engineer. There, they were part of a team of three people and was responsible for designing and developing the streaming server architecture for the Ladon 7 video management software. Matteo was able to create a system that could handle hundreds of simultaneous video and audio streams at different frame-rates, both live and playback, and deliver them to multiple requesting clients with minimum latency, as well as record them on disk. Battaglio also designed and implemented the streaming protocol and the file format, as well as the client decoding pipeline and the rendering engine using advanced OpenGL and threading techniques. The rendering performance was of hundreds of frames per second at HD resolution on mainstream hardware.

In 2012, Battaglio left Tecnosens S.p.A. to work as an iOS software developer at Codermine. There, they were responsible for the design and development of diverse iOS apps, ranging from small stand-alone utilities to complex social-networking apps communicating with RESTful backends. Switching from one project to a completely different next one in a short time gave him the opportunity to engage in lots of different challenges in the mobile software development area and learn cutting edge technologies and frameworks. Matteo therefore matured a strong problem solving approach and developed a team working attitude.

Battaglio began working at Bending Spoons in 2015 as a software engineer.

Matteo Battaglio has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Software Engineering from Università degli Studi di Brescia and a Diploma di Maturità Scientifica in Liceo Tecnologico from Liceo Tecnologico B. Castelli. Matteo also has a certification in Introduction to Artificial Intelligence from Udacity.

Their manager is Luca Ferrari, Co-founder & CEO. Matteo Battaglio works with Marco Martina - Art Director, Olivia Improta - Customer Support Manager, and Spartaco Menesatti - QA Analyst & Release Manager.
