Matt Matheson

Director, Brand Marketing at Benevity

Matt Matheson has extensive experience in brand marketing, consumer marketing, digital acquisition, and communications. Matt is currently working as the Director of Brand Marketing at Benevity since July 2022. Previously, they worked as the Director of Consumer Marketing at Shaw Communications from April 2018 to August 2022. Before that, they held the position of Manager of Digital Acquisition at Freedom Mobile from August 2017 to May 2018. Matt has also served as the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity from May 2015 to August 2017, and as the Director of Communications from May 2014 to May 2015. Additionally, they worked as the Marketing and Communications Manager for Canada at Movember from June 2011 to May 2014. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Youth Communications Manager at THINKHOUSE -The Youth Communications Agency from October 2006 to May 2011. Matt started their career as a Special Projects Assistant at The Canadian Music Centre in May 2006.

Matt Matheson attended Mount Allison University from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Music degree with a focus on Music and Commerce. In 2007 and 2008, they pursued a Diploma in Online Marketing and Advertising at Fitzwilliam Institute Group, specializing in Digital Advertising, Marketing, and PR. In 2015 and 2016, they furthered their education at The Banff Centre, studying New Fundamentals. Lastly, in 2017, they briefly attended New York University to pursue studies in Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategy.
