Rachel Nielsen

Rachel Nielsen is an accomplished educator and experienced freelance reporter with a diverse career spanning various roles. Currently serving as a Substitute Teacher for Berkeley Heights Public Schools and Morris School District, Rachel has demonstrated effective classroom management and engagement across all school levels, including special education. As the owner of Nielsen Tutoring since 2002, Rachel specializes in teaching ESL, language arts, civics, and history, significantly improving students' standardized test scores. Additionally, Rachel has an extensive background in journalism, with notable achievements at InvestigateWest and other media outlets, focusing on topics such as foster care, politics, and business. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bryn Mawr College and is pursuing teacher certification through the Alternate Route Program at Rutgers Graduate School of Education.
