Hanna Breunig

Hanna Breunig is a highly skilled staff scientist and deputy leader of the Sustainable Energy and Environmental Systems (SEES) Department at Berkeley Lab since August 2015. With a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, obtained in 2015, and extensive experience in modeling energy systems, Hanna has worked on projects involving waste biomass availability and life cycle assessments of various energy technologies. Prior to this, Hanna held positions as a graduate student researcher and postdoctoral fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where significant contributions included developing estimation methods for energy demand and impacts from emerging technologies. An undergraduate researcher at Cornell University, Hanna gained practical research experience and insight into the biofuel industry.
