Sydney Hemenway

Graduate Student Researcher, Ceder Group at Berkeley Lab

Sydney Hemenway is a dedicated researcher in clean energy manufacturing, currently serving as a Research Scholar at Berkeley Lab, where investigations into CO2 reduction for solar fuel applications are underway. Notable achievements include independent calculations in kinetics and diffusion, experimental design, and co-authoring a paper for ACS Catalysis. Previous roles include a SULI Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Molecular Foundry, focusing on synthesizing hybrid organic-inorganic films, and a Battery Intern at NanoGraf Corporation, where quantitative XRD and data visualization strategies were employed. Sydney has also worked as a Deputy Principal Investigator for the RADISH Project, managing a team to explore electromagnetic shielding against solar wind. Additional experience includes mentorship in computer science and coaching youth sports. Sydney is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
