Laboratory Operations Manager at FabricNano

Rebecca Parkin is the Laboratory Operations Manager at FabricNano. Rebecca has extensive experience in ELISAs, flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, cell culture, and PBMC isolation. Rebecca is also competent in performing Luminex multiplexing, ImmunoCAP, and ISAC. In addition, they have experience using software such as Cytobank, Flowjo, Prism, Softmax, and FACSdiva.

Before working at FabricNano, Rebecca was a Senior Research Technician/Delegated lab manager at Imperial College London from December 2014 to October 2021. During their time there, they were responsible for training and supervising junior members of staff and students taking BSc, MSc and MRes projects in the department. Rebecca also liaised with collaborators and was the internal and external contact for logistics of clinical samples. In addition, they were responsible for project costing, management of laboratory and servicing of equipment, ordering of research materials and consumables, and meeting and negotiating discounts with sales representatives.

Rebecca is also certified in Health and Safety. Rebecca has a CIEH level 3 award in Health and Safety in the workplace and is a Biosafety Practitioner Level 1. Rebecca was also the Section Safety Coordinator for the group, Radioactive Protection Supervisor (RPS), First Aider for the group, and Fire Warden for the building.

Rebecca Parkin has a degree in biomedical science from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Rebecca also has certifications from LinkedIn in the six morning habits of high performers, communication within teams, and time management for managers.
