Tyler Kinnear

Tyler Kinnear, PhD, is an accomplished music educator and career engagement professional currently serving as the Assistant Director of Career Engagement and Programs at Berklee College of Music since September 2023. Kinnear previously held the role of Internship Coordinator at Emerson College, where responsibilities included administering the Internship for Credit program, fostering collaborations for career exposure activities, and promoting equity in internship opportunities. An experienced instructor, Kinnear designed and taught courses at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Western Carolina University, focusing on rock music, sound studies, and interdisciplinary arts. Kinnear earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Musicology from The University of British Columbia, where a significant research project culminated in a comprehensive dissertation on music and the environment.
