Rick Fochtman

Executive Vice President Business Development And Marketing at Bernards Bros., Inc.

Rick Fochtman has a long and varied work experience. Rick started their career as an intern at Interface Planning in 1992. Rick then worked as an Environmental Analyst at KEA Environmental in 1993. From 1994 to 1996, they served as an Assistant Estimator and Project Engineer at Cal Pac Construction. Rick then moved on to W.E. O'Neil Construction, where they worked as a Project Engineer from 1996 to 1997.

In 1997, Fochtman joined Bernards as the Director of Project Development. Rick held this position until 2014 when they were promoted to Executive Vice President. During their time at Bernards, they also served as the Director of Sustainability from 2004 to 2015. In this role, they developed and implemented a training program for field teams and worked on incorporating green alternatives in projects.

Fochtman's involvement with the USGBC - Inland Empire began in 2007, where they served as a Founding Board Member until 2015. Rick also held positions such as Education Chair and Chair during their tenure with the organization. Rick also served on the Chapters Steering Committee for the US Green Building Council from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, they were a member of the School Energy Coalition in 2013.

Fochtman's current role is as the Executive Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Bernards, which they started in 2021.

Rick Fochtman attended UC Santa Barbara from 1988 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies.
