Anahita Fathi M.D.

Anahita Fathi, MD, currently serves as the Associate Director of Clinical Development for Infectious Diseases at BioNTech SE, having held this position since January 2024. Since January 2017, Anahita has worked as a Research Associate at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf, focusing on infection research and vaccine development. Anahita has extensive experience in infectious diseases, including serving as Chief Infectious Disease Fellow in the DFG-funded Clinician Scientist program and as a Clinician Scientist at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine. Anahita also held leadership roles such as Chair of the Young DGIM and Junior Research Group Leader at the German Center for Infection Research. Education includes a Dr. med. degree from the University of Münster and training at several international institutions.
