Valentina Marchese is a specialized infectious diseases physician and postdoctoral researcher with extensive experience in tropical medicine and epidemiology. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine, Valentina leads Malagasy field operations focused on schistosomiasis projects. In addition, Valentina has been active since 2018 at Azienda Socio Sanitaria Territoriale Spedali Civili di Brescia, providing infectious disease consultations and participating in emergency and outpatient services, including COVID-19 response and care for at-risk populations. Previous roles include research grantee at the University of Brescia, where Valentina contributed to a mobile application project for tuberculosis screening, and positions at IRCCS Ospedale Sacro Cuore Don Calabria and INMP, focusing on tropical diseases and migrant health. Valentina holds multiple degrees, including a Master's degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD from Università degli Studi di Brescia.
