Dionne Smith

Dionne Smith is an experienced professional in employability and community development, currently serving as Employability Business Partner at Bernicia Group since April 2022. In this role, Dionne develops and delivers the employability programme, collaborating with business leaders, education providers, and support agencies to enhance employability outcomes for young people and local residents. Previously, as Employability Project Officer at The Percy Hedley Foundation from July 2015 to April 2022, Dionne engaged with employers to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers. Earlier experience includes working as a Mentor Project Worker at Volunteer Centre Sunderland, focusing on making volunteering accessible, and serving as Community Volunteer Worker at Sunderland North Community Business Centre, where Dionne developed volunteering opportunities for child and family services. Additionally, Dionne worked as a Play and Learn Family Worker at a Children Centre, providing tailored services to meet community needs. Education was completed at St Roberts of Newminster in Washington, Tyne and Wear.
