Edd Thompson

Edd Thompson has extensive work experience in the field of IT support services. Edd currently holds the position of Group Head of IT Support Services at Besso, a Lloyds Insurance Broker. Prior to this role, they have held various positions at Besso, including Head of IT Services & Facilities and Joint Head of IT & Services. Edd originally joined Besso in 1999 as a Technical Services Manager, where they were responsible for server software/hardware maintenance, administration, support, and implementation. Edd also provided desktop support to the employees. Before joining Besso, Edd worked at Group 4 as a VDU Operator from January 1998 to May 1999. Edd started their career as a Technician at Info' Products UK in 1997, where they were involved in the installation and upgrading of computer hardware/software for large companies.

Edd Thompson attended Colchester Institute from 1996 to 1999, where they studied Information Technology. Edd obtained additional certifications throughout their career, including TECH IOSH from IOSH in May 2020, NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH in November 2019, IOSH - Managing Safely from Astutis Ltd in March 2017, LM1 London Market Insurance Essentials from City & Guilds in November 2014, and Nimble Installation and Operation Professional (NIOP) from Nimbe Storage University in November 2014.
