Lisa began their career in 1993 as the Press Secretary to the First Lady and Deputy Assistant to the President at The White House. Lisa then went on to become the Vice President of Global Communications and Synergy at Disney Publishing Worldwide in 1998.

In 2000, Lisa became the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Citi. Lisa was responsible for directing the company’s global marketing, corporate communications/public affairs and community relations. Lisa was also a member of the company's Management Committee.

Lisa left Citi in 2011 and joined Best Buy as the Director.

After Lisa M. Caputo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French from Brown University, they went on to earn a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University.
