Sue Citro

Sue Citro has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations. Sue currently serves as the Chief Experience Officer at Best Friends Animal Society since June 2018. Prior to this, they were the Chief Digital Officer at the same organization from February 2015 to June 2018.

Before joining Best Friends Animal Society, Sue held various roles at The Nature Conservancy. From April 2014 to February 2015, they served as the Director of Global Development and Online Advancement. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Digital Strategy, Global Markets from December 2011 to March 2014 and as the Director of Digital Membership from January 2006 to December 2011.

Sue also has experience working at Kintera/CTSG, where they served as the VP for Consulting from October 2003 to December 2005. Before that, they worked as a Senior Project Manager at Craver, Mathews, Smith from August 2002 to October 2003.

Sue'searly career includes a role as the Operations and Marketing Manager at Enews.com from October 1998 to July 2002, where they streamlined e-commerce program processes and managed sales. Sue started their career as a Program Analyst at the Peace Corps from September 1993 to October 1998, where they managed recruitment, retention, and program operations for a pen-pal exchange program.

Sue Citro earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from American University from 1992 to 1996. Subsequently, from 2003 to 2005, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Communications / New Media from The Johns Hopkins University. In 2012, Sue Citro obtained a Certificate of Completion in Negotiation and Leadership from the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
