Bruce Wienberg

VP, Operations at Best Western

Bruce Wienberg was named vice president of operations of Best Western® Hotels & Resorts in January 2016. Wienberg began his career with Best Western in 2003 providing training, consulting and quality assurance assessments for more than 50 hotels in western Canada and the United States.

Wienberg served in various roles and was promoted to serve as the director of International Quality Assurance in 2008. In this role he enhanced global brand standards, quality and guest satisfaction through assessment audits, quality assurance, brand identity and operational training for international Best Western hotels in 100+ countries. He also manages the Customer Relations Department call center working directly with guests, hotel owners and their staff to help provide solutions to accommodations, service, reservations and billing issues. In 2013, he took on the added responsibilities of quality assurance and consulting for all North American properties, along with the company’s education and training efforts, guest satisfaction and feedback programs, district managers, and global brand identity departments.

Prior to joining Best Western, Wienberg spent over a decade in the hospitality industry, including roles of bar manager and owner, night manager and general manager. His time was spent at properties that varied from branded full service hotels to boutique-style properties and condo/timeshares operations. Locations include resorts and cities of Kelowna, Penticton, Whistler and Fernie, British Columbia.

Wienberg has been a Certified Hotel Administrator since 1998 and earned his bachelor of fine arts from York University in Toronto, Ontario. He earned a six sigma green belt in 2008.
