Chris Laia

Chris Laia is the current General Counsel at Bestow. Prior to this, they were the General Counsel at RedCrow Crowdfunding from January 2017 to February 2018. Chris has also held the position of Deputy General Counsel at USAA from June 2007 to March 2016, where they were responsible for managing a team of 350 attorneys. Chris has also been a partner at Brown Advisory from April 2002 to April 2007, and the Associate General Counsel and Compliance Director for Regulatory Affairs at Alex Brown and Sons from July 1996 to May 1999.

Chris Laia obtained a Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law and a Master of Laws from Tulane University Law School. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Stony Brook University.

Chris Laia reports to Melbourne O'Banion, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Ben Armstrong - Chief Marketing Officer & GM, Direct, Adam Boender - VP, Product, and Steve Robinson - Chief Distribution Officer. A direct report to Chris Laia is and Luke McLaren - Deputy GC & Chief Compliance Officer.
