Geraldine Laybourne

Geraldine Laybourne is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and board governance across various organizations. As Co-Founder of DAY ONE Early Learning Community, Geraldine has focused on revitalizing the Poughkeepsie area through initiatives supporting workforce development and early childhood education since August 2019. In addition, Geraldine serves as Board Member at Betaworks Studios and maintains the role of Vice Chairman of the Board at Vital Voices Global Partnership until May 2024. Previous positions include Board Member at 9 Story Media Group, Trustee at Vassar College until July 2022, and Director at Symantec, where Geraldine was involved in the compensation committee. Geraldine also held chairmanship roles at Defy Media and Alloy Media + Marketing and served as a Director for JCPenney and Electronic Arts. Geraldine's academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Vassar College.
