Joost Welzen

Joost Welzen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies in the financial industry. Joost is currently the Head of Strategy & Transformation at ABN AMRO Deutschland since 2022. Prior to this, they held the same position at Bethmann Bank from 2019 to 2021, where they also served as the Director of Corporate Development. Before joining Bethmann Bank, Joost held various roles at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. from 2006 to 2018, including Director of Corporate Development for ABN AMRO Private Banking Asia & Middle East and Associate Director at Corporate Finance & Capital Markets. Joost began their career as an intern at ABN AMRO Corporate Finance M&A.

Joost Welzen completed their high school education at International College Spain from 1992 to 2000, where they obtained the IB degree. Joost then pursued their undergraduate studies in International Economics & Business at the University of Groningen from 2000 to 2006. During this time, in 2004, Joost participated in a Study Abroad Program at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In 2005, they began their Master of Science degree in International Economics at Uppsala University, which they completed in 2006. Additionally, Joost earned a Master of Science degree in Business and Economics with a specialization in Financial Management from the University of Groningen from 2000 to 2007. In 2006, they attended the Executive Summer Program at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
