Christian Arenas

Christian Arenas has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology. Their most recent position is as a Senior Scientist at Better Dairy, starting in 2022. Before that, they worked at GSK for 3 years as a Molecular Biologist, where they were involved in various tasks such as genome knockouts, protein expression testing, plant cell culture techniques, and genetic engineering work. Prior to GSK, Christian worked at the University of Nottingham in multiple roles, including Research Fellow, Research Assistant, PhD Student, Laboratory Demonstrator, and Public Engagement/Outreach. Their responsibilities at the university involved molecular cloning, protein expression, growth and detection of products, and involvement in various outreach activities. Christian also gained industry experience as an R&D MSc Placement at Bioingenium, s.l. and as a BSc's research placement at Mútua Terrassa.

Christian Arenas has an education history that includes a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, completed from 2007 to 2011. After that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Advanced Biotechnology from the same university, which took place from 2011 to 2012. Finally, Christian completed their highest level of education, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Microbiology, at the University of Nottingham from 2013 to 2017.
