James Westhead is an experienced professional currently serving as the Executive Director, Engagement at Better Society Capital since September 2019. Prior to this role, James spent nearly a decade at Teach First, where responsibilities included enhancing awareness and support for the organization, as well as leading a team in digital initiatives. James also held the position of Director of External Relations at Teach First, focusing on funding, communications, and impact research. Earlier in a 19-year tenure with the BBC, James worked as an Education & Social Policy Correspondent and served as the Washington Correspondent from 2005 to 2007. James holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford and a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from City, University of London.
