Co-Founder at Better World Books

Jeff Kurtzman has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as Co-Founder, President, CFO, and Board Member at Bark Social since January 2019. Bark Social is a private monitored off-leash dog park with a beer garden, coffee house, and dog boutique. They are currently expanding to new locations in the Mid-Atlantic region and Southern California.

Prior to Bark Social, Jeff co-founded Better World Books in 2002 and served as the Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer for the first five years. Better World Books is an online seller of used books and a founding member of B Corporations.

In 2015, Jeff joined Mavin Ventures as the Co-Founder & Managing Partner, a growth equity firm that invests in innovative technology companies in the Mid-Atlantic region. Jeff also became a Board Member at Baltimore Angels, an angel investor group, and served as a Member in the largest angel investment group in Baltimore.

Additionally, Jeff has served as a Board Member and Investor at Pixilated, an online marketplace dedicated to luxury suites, and as an Investor and Advisor at SuiteHop. Jeff has also worked as an Independent Consultant, focusing on self-employment as an entrepreneur.

Furthermore, Jeff has been an Investor in Sandboxx, Gold Lasso, and Yet Analytics, Inc., a company recognized with the "Data Visionary Award" at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2015. Yet Analytics aims to improve the data accessibility and analysis to enhance organizational outcomes.

Jeff Kurtzman attended the University of Notre Dame from 1997 to 2001, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.). Jeff'sdouble major was in Finance and Business Economics, with a specialization in Computer Applications. In July 2018, Jeff obtained the Series 79 certification, which is the Investment Banking Representative Exam, from FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).
