Grant Gumina has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Grant started their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Atomic Object in 2010. Later, in 2013, they worked as a Kihara Lab researcher, where they conducted research in computational protein synthesis and implemented a database to store protein data.
In 2013, Grant joined Microsoft as an intern, and then in 2014, they became a Fellow at Chicago Ventures. Grant also served as a Director and Board Member at The Anvil, a co-working space in West Lafayette, Indiana. During their time there, they launched and managed several programs that supported Purdue students and alumni in building their own companies.
Grant went on to work at Microsoft again as a Product Manager for OneNote, where they focused on education scenarios. Grant led a team of 20 engineers in rearchitecting OneNote's synchronization infrastructure to enable real-time collaboration features.
In 2018, Grant joined Qumulo, Inc. as a Product Manager, where they worked on the company's flash storage line and later became a member of the founding cloud team. Grant was responsible for product roadmap, creating GTM collateral, and messaging iteration, which led to significant growth in the company's annual recurring revenue.
In 2019, Grant joined Upbound as a Director of Product, where they took on various responsibilities, including product, design, documentation engineering, and developer advocacy. Grant helped develop the commercialization strategy for Crossplane and contributed to the company's growth.
Currently, Grant is serving as the Director of Product at BetterCloud, starting in 2023.
Grant Gumina attended Purdue University where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
