Alyson Nelson

Alyson Nelson has worked in a variety of roles in the education field since 2006. Alyson began their career as a Science Teacher in Greenville County Schools and then moved to Nikola Tesla STEM High School, where they worked as a Biology Teacher from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, they joined the APASS Education Group as a Project Manager, Managing Editor, and Content Writer. That same year, they also began working in the Lake Washington School District as a STEM Curriculum Specialist. In 2019, they joined BetterLesson, where they have held roles as a Product Manager, Senior Manager of Learning Design, and Instructional Coach. As Senior Manager of Learning Design, they design high-quality, engaging professional learning experiences across a variety of platforms and content areas. As Instructional Coach, they support teachers throughout the US and Canada as an instructional coach in the areas of blended and personalized learning.

Alyson Nelson attended Clemson University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Science Teaching (Biological Sciences). Alyson then went on to Boise State University, where they earned a Master of Educational Technology in Educational/Instructional Technology.
