Jack Zhao

Jack Zhao has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Jack is currently working as a Software Engineer at Betteromics since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Pachama as a Software Engineer from 2021 to 2022. From 2020 to 2021, they were a Software Engineer at Color, where they contributed to building a highly scalable Covid-19 test. Before that, they worked at GRAIL, Inc. as a Software Engineer from 2017 to 2020. Jack also has extensive experience at Facebook, where they worked as a Software Engineer from 2009 to 2017. Jack started their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Google in 2008, followed by a role as a Software Design Engineer Intern at Microsoft. Prior to that, they had internships at Morgan Stanley, Idee Inc., and Oculus Info Inc.

Jack Zhao completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Combinatorics & Optimization from the University of Waterloo, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. In addition to their degree, Jack has obtained several certifications in the field of bioinformatics. Jack completed the Bioinformatics Specialization, which included various courses such as "Finding Hidden Messages in DNA" and "Genomic Data Science with Galaxy." Jack also obtained certifications in subjects like molecular evolution, comparative genomics, and genomic data analysis. Most recently, in 2020, Jack completed certifications in "Bioconductor for Genomic Data Science" and "Statistics for Genomic Data Science" from Coursera.
