Alyssa O’Neill

O’Neill is a Long Island native who earned her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017. While in veterinary school, she was accepted to the prestigious US Army Health Professionals Scholarship Program. Immediately following her graduation, she attended basic training for Army medical officers in Oklahoma and Texas before settling into Fort Benning, GA for a year-long internship at a military veterinary hospital. Upon completing her internship, she was appointed officer in charge of the hospital at Fort Benning. In this role, she continued to work with military working dogs and veterinary interns, treated the fur babies of active duty service members and retirees, and applied her veterinary skills to support public health on base by assisting with zoonotic disease control and food safety.
