Paul Engel

Paul Engel has extensive work experience in the software development industry. Paul started their career in 2004 as a Software Developer at Internetbureau Holder, where they worked on Delphi Pascal and Ruby on Rails projects. Paul then joined Betty Blocks BV in 2011 as a Web Developer, contributing to the design and development of the Betty Blocks platform using Ruby on Rails and other tools. In 2013, Paul moved to Advidi - Network as a Senior Ruby Engineer, working on high traffic web applications and utilizing technologies such as Rack, Ruby on Rails, Ansible, Hadoop, and BigQuery. Paul returned to Betty Blocks in 2016 and took on roles such as a VP of Architecture and a Senior Software Developer, involved in the development of the Betty Blocks platform using various technologies including Elixir, Phoenix Framework, Node.js, React, and Docker. Paul has experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum and DevOps practices.

Paul Engel completed their secondary education at Hervormd Lyceum West from 1994 to 2000, earning a degree in HAVO Natuur & Techniek. Subsequently, they enrolled at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Ingenieur / Bachelor of ICT with a focus on Hogere Informatica, completing their studies from 2001 to 2006.
