Sandra Nelson

Sandra Nelson has worked in a variety of roles in the pharmaceutical, biochemistry, and chemistry industries since 1980. Sandra began their career as a Staff Chemist at Ames Laboratory in 1980. In 1984, they moved to the National Animal Disease Center, USDA, as a Research Biochemist. In 1988, they joined Procter & Gamble as a Section Head in the Pharmaceuticals division, where they worked for 8 years. In 2006, they became the Director of High Throughput Screening at the University of Cincinnati. In 2012, they joined Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory (MDL) as the Chief Technology Officer and QA Manager. Finally, in 2016, they became a VP and Consultant at Bexion Pharmaceuticals, where they participated in management of clinical trials, provided research support for intellectual property, and researched for development of new products.

Sandra Nelson completed their Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Iowa State University between 1971 and 1975. Sandra then went on to obtain their PhD in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 1975 and 1980.
