Bülend Avci

Bülend AVCI, PhD, has a diverse range of work experience. Currently serving as the Stores Operations Director at Beymen Group, they are responsible for overseeing store operations. They have also worked as a Lecturer at Bahcesehir University, teaching Strategic Management&Leadership to MBA students. Their role involves exploring the principles of strategic management and leadership practices in today's business environment.

Prior to their current roles, they held various positions at METRO Türkiye, including Head Of Store & Technical Operations, where they coordinated between headquarters and stores and implemented marketing plans. They also served as the Head Of Regional Operations, managing multiple stores in different locations, and as a Store Manager, ensuring customer satisfaction and analyzing customer figures.

Additionally, they worked as a Floor Manager-Dry Food at METRO Türkiye, responsible for the presentation and promotion of products to maximize turnover and profit. They have also lectured on Corporate Governance at Yeditepe University, addressing theoretical and practical issues in company direction and control.

Furthermore, they gained experience as a Sales Manager at Ulker Biskuvi, managing distributors and ensuring sales and profit targets were reached. They also served as a Team Leader at real,- Hypermarkets (Metro Group), responsible for product management and pricing.

Bülend AVCI, PhD, completed a Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University from 1994 to 1999. Bülend then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Izmir University of Economics between 2009 and 2011. Later, from 2015 to 2020, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business Administration and Management, General from Bahcesehir University. In addition, they completed a Metro Management Academy program at Boğaziçi University from 2006 to 2008.
