Sadadi Ojoatre has a diverse work experience in the fields of GIS, remote sensing, and natural resources. Sadadi has worked as a Research Associate at BeZero Carbon since 2023, focusing on carbon modeling. Prior to that, they served as a Natural Resources Scientist at the same company from September 2022 to December 2022. Sadadi also worked as a GIS Specialist for the Government of Uganda from September 2022 to April 2023. Sadadi held the position of GIS & Remote Sensing Expert (Team Leader) at TotalEnergies from August 2021 to May 2022.
Furthermore, Sadadi has experience as a Developer/Modeller at the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development from December 2021 to April 2022. Sadadi participated in a project on land productivity analysis tools and methodology in multiple African countries. In addition, they worked for the Government of Uganda as a GIS & Remote Sensing Expert from March 2021 to December 2021. Prior to that, they served as a GIS Analyst at RECIRCLED RESOURCES LTD from January 2019 to May 2021, where they were responsible for spatial data analysis and map production.
Sadadi also has expertise as a Remote Sensing & GIS Specialist at Geospat Analytics, where they were responsible for maintaining GIS systems, conducting training, preparing GIS layers and data sets, and performing spatial analysis from July 2018 to April 2021. Sadadi worked as a GIS Trainer (Consultant) for ActionAid in January and February 2021, providing GIS training for staff members. Sadadi's earlier experience includes working as a Research Fellow (Remote Sensing & GIS) at CIFOR from July 2017 to December 2020, focusing on forest cover change and soil carbon assessment. Sadadi also worked as a GIS Analyst/Modeler at the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development from April 2020 to September 2020.
Sadadi Ojoatre has a diverse education history in the field of environmental sciences and spatial ecology. They obtained a PhD in Environmental Sciences with a specialization in Spatial Ecology from Lancaster University, graduating in 2021. Prior to their doctoral studies, Sadadi completed a Master's degree in Geo-Information Science & Earth Observation with a focus on Natural Resources Management at the University of Twente, which was completed between 2014 and 2016.
In 2013 and 2014, Sadadi pursued postgraduate diplomas in Information Technology (IT) at Amity University and Project Planning & Management at the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) respectively. In particular, their diploma from UMI was in the field of Project Management.
Sadadi's undergraduate studies were undertaken at Makerere University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management between 2006 and 2009.
In addition to their formal education, Sadadi has also obtained several certifications. Notably, they completed a Forest and land monitoring for climate action - SEPAL certification from the FAO in May 2023. Furthermore, they have acquired certifications in various GIS (Geographical Information System) tools and applications, including Introduction to ArcGIS Server, Building Geodatabases, Mobile Mapping using ArcPad and GPS, ArcGIS Desktop series, and Remote Sensing using ENVI. These certifications were obtained from institutions such as Esri Eastern Africa and Geo-Information Communication Ltd.
Sadadi has also received additional certifications in Spatial Ecotoxicology and Ecotoxicological Risk Assessment from the University of Koblenz and Landau in August 2016, as well as in Practical Enterprise Development from Justus Liebig University Giessen in May 2009. Lastly, Sadadi holds a Certificate in Computer Applications from Makerere University, acquired in September 2008.
