Raida al-Alawi

Raida Al-Alawi, Ph.D., SMIEEE, MIET, ACM, and ABET PEV, currently serves as President of the Bahrain Society of Engineers and as a member of the IEEE CEAA. Al-Alawi is an adjunct professor at the American University of Bahrain and holds the position of Director of Technology Development at BFG International. With extensive experience in academia, Al-Alawi previously served as Dean of Student Affairs at Ahlia University and as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bahrain. Research interests include embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, neural networks, hardware/software co-design, and computer vision, complemented by a robust educational background including a Ph.D. in Artificial Neural Networks from Brunel University of London, an MS in Computer Engineering from King's College London, and a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Kuwait University.
