Joe Abel has a strong background in real estate and procurement, with over 20 years of experience. Joe began their career at Nortel Networks as an Assistant Buyer/Analyst, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement for real estate requirements. Joe then joined PwC as a Purchasing Analyst, overseeing facility-related expenditures and managing contracts for construction and maintenance projects. After that, Joe worked at BLJC, starting as a Procurement Manager and eventually becoming a Portfolio Director and Regional Director. In these roles, they were responsible for managing portfolios, overseeing procurement, and property management. Currently, Joe is at BGIS, where they serve as the Associate Vice President, RP1 Client Services. Joe is responsible for managing property/facility management, lease administration, and project delivery services for government contracts. Joe has a track record of achieving mission, vision, and value goals while prioritizing health and safety, energy, sustainability, security, quality, and performance management.

Joe Abel received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Carleton University from 1993 to 1997. In 2005, they attended Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology for a course in Introduction to Project Management.
