Michael Hardy

Michael Hardy has over 20 years of work experience in various roles within the IT industry. Michael started their career as a Helpdesk Analyst at Quotecheck Hogg Robinson, where they provided technical and telephony support and conducted on-site training for staff. Michael then joined National Car Rental as an IT Support Desk Analyst, handling over 200 queries per day and liaising with multiple departments.

In 2002, Michael moved to Europcar as a Senior Analyst Programmer, where they developed and enhanced systems using various programming languages and managed project-based teams. Michael then joined Travis Perkins plc in 2010 as a Developer/Senior Developer, responsible for developing new systems, coordinating testing, and enhancing existing HR and payroll systems. Michael later became a Scrum Master, facilitating Agile principles and serving as a technical lead on Java and SQL projects.

Since 2018, Michael has been working at BGL Group as a Quality Lead. In this role, they have created and led an Automation Community, delivered significant cost savings, and managed various teams, including Platform, DevOps, CI/CD, and Test Automation. Michael has also been involved in recruitment, setting quality benchmarks, and promoting quality and reusability. Additionally, they have focused on test automation education, DevOps strategy, and aligning development and test environments with live environments.
