Amalia Lorena Carrillo

Amalia Lorena Carrillo is an experienced professional in corporate affairs and social management, currently serving as Principal Lead of Corporate Affairs at BHP since December 2022. Prior to this role, Amalia held the position of Global Head of Social Management at Nexa Resources, where significant achievements included developing a Social Management System for host communities in Peru and Brazil. With expertise spanning sustainability management at Bocas del Toro Energia and CH Chaglla, Amalia has led teams to achieve compliance with international standards and has been instrumental in securing financial backing for major infrastructure projects. Notably, Amalia's earlier career included community liaison roles with Mines Advisory Group in Sri Lanka, Colombia, and South Sudan, and a communications role at UNICEF, highlighting a strong commitment to social development and community engagement.
