Martin Haro serves as Head of Safety at BHP since September 2015, previously held the role of Principal Safety Analysis & Improvement. Prior to this, Martin worked at Minera Escondida Ltda. from June 2012 to December 2015 as Improvement Safety Specialist, focusing on safety improvement projects and data analysis related to safety and health variables. Martin's career began at BHP Billiton from April 2007 to March 2010 as Jefe de Sistemas de Gestion HSEC, overseeing HSEC management processes for multiple operations in Chile. Additionally, Martin worked at Minera Escondida Ltda. from January 2000 to March 2007 as Contralor de Costos, managing budget development and contract administration in the Health and Safety division. Martin's educational background includes a Post-Título in Occupational Risk Prevention from Universidad Católica del Norte, a Diplomado in People Management from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and an Engineering degree in Industrial Management from Universidad Arturo Prat.
