Randall Fernando

Randall Fernando is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data science, innovation, and technology within the mining and finance sectors. Currently, as the Principal of Ecosystem Data Science and Intelligence Operations at BHP, Randall leads initiatives focused on accelerating resource production essential for a net zero emission future, specifically leveraging data science, AI, and robotics. Previous roles at BHP include leading innovation projects and exploring advanced technologies to address significant corporate challenges. Prior to joining BHP, Randall held various engineering and analytical positions at Suncorp Group and contributed to research at institutions such as the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. Randall's educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Psychological Science from The University of Queensland. Additionally, Randall served as a Board Member for the UQ Young Alumni Advisory Board, enhancing community engagement and event organization.
