Rosie Kizil PhD MAUSIMM is a seasoned professional in the mining industry with extensive experience in risk management, data analysis, and technology delivery. Currently serving as a Specialist Asset Risk in Asset Systems at BHP since July 2022, Rosie previously held the role of Specialist Business Analyst within the DevOps Technology Delivery & Capability Portfolio at the same company. In 2022, Rosie was a Rosie Codes Plus Immersive Technology Bootcamp Training Scholar, participating in a program aimed at fostering opportunities for women in technology. Prior to this, Rosie worked at the University of Queensland as a Mining Engineer and Risk and OH&S Expert, and consulted in the mining sector from 2017 to 2019. Rosie’s long-standing association with the University of Queensland also included roles as an Adjunct Fellow and Postdoctoral Research Fellow, focusing on risk management and safety in the mining industry. Rosie holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University. Additionally, Rosie attained a Diploma of Quality Auditing in 2020.
