Rui Mendes Gorgueira

Rui Mendes Gorgueira has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Rui started their career in 1996 as an Oracle Developer at Capgemini, working with technologies such as Oracle forms and PL-SQL. Rui then moved on to SoftFinanca as a Microsoft Developer, where they gained experience in banking industry analysis and Microsoft Visual Basic development.

In 1997, Rui joined Parque Expo 98 as an Analyst and Developer, focusing on business analysis for billing systems and development using Microsoft Visual Basic. Rui later worked as a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant and BI Project Manager at NOVABASE Suporte à Decisão, gaining expertise in BI projects and consultancy.

From 2001 to 2002, Rui served as a Unit Manager at EDEV Consulting before joining Movicel Telecomunications as an IT Manager. In this role, they were responsible for business analysis, demand management, IT architecture, team management, contract management, and more.

In 2007, Rui worked as a Specialist Business Intelligence Consultant at Refrige, where they provided consulting services to companies such as Coca-Cola and UNISYS, utilizing technologies like Microsoft SQL Server and Proclarity.

Rui joined BI4ALL in 2008 as an Account Delivery Manager, overseeing industries such as banking, food & beverage, insurance, automobile, and pharma. Rui also took on various roles such as engagement manager, team manager, and business intelligence architect.

At Unitel, Rui worked from 2012 to 2018, first as a Senior ERP & Analytics Manager and later as a Senior Program Manager for software applications.

In 2018, Rui returned to BI4ALL, this time as a Regional Delivery Director, responsible for the consultancy team in the Portuguese market. Rui then progressed to the role of Chief Operations Officer in 2022, where they hold responsibilities such as developing company strategy, managing senior managers, creating and developing new business units, and working on customer satisfaction and people development.

Throughout their career, Rui has demonstrated experience in various industries and roles, showcasing their expertise in business intelligence, project management, team management, and customer relationship development. Rui has also exhibited leadership qualities as a member of executive committee boards and having reported to CEOs and CTOs.

Rui Mendes Gorgueira has a solid education background in executive management and computer science. In 1991, they started their undergraduate studies at the University of Lisbon, specializing in Informatics and Computer Science. Rui successfully completed their graduation in this field in 1995.

In 2007, Rui pursued a post-graduate degree in Executive Management at the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics. This program further enhanced their knowledge and skills in managing businesses.

In addition to their formal education, Rui also attained certifications to expand their expertise. In 2008, they obtained the MS SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Implementation 70-445 certification from Microsoft. In 2010, they earned the SAP Success Factors Talent Management certification from Success Factors.
